Key Reasons to Renew

• Free Veteran Advocacy & Assistance: Accredited American Legion service officers provide free assistance to veterans and their families with VA claims, benefits, and appeals. The organization also lobbies Congress and federal agencies for better active-duty pay, housing, and VA healthcare systems.

• Strength in Numbers: Maintaining a high membership count (representing nearly 1.8 million members) gives national leaders stronger leverage when testifying before lawmakers on behalf of all veterans.

• Uninterrupted Benefits & Subscriptions: Renewing keeps your subscription to The American Legion Magazine active, preserves your eligibility for member-only retail and travel discounts, and ensures continued participation in local post social functions and programs.

• Community Connection ("Buddy Checks"): Local posts and auxiliary units conduct regular Buddy Checks to reach out, reconnect, and look out for the welfare of fellow veterans in your area.
